In 1925-1926, the famous Hungarian-born architect and furniture designer Marcel Lajos Breuer created this stunning work of art. The Wassily Chair (also known as the Model B3 chair) was first designed by Breuer when he was the head of the Bauhaus' cabinet-making workshop in Dessau, Germany.

This chair is one of the greatest, most iconic examples of modernist art there is, with a beautifully intricate design that still manages to project an air of subtlety. It is believed by many to be the very first chair to utilise bent tubular steel in its design, and it looks magnificent in both formal and casual interiors.

The Wassily Chair has a design that looks very disconnected. The parts are all solidly put together, to be sure, but the chair is made in such a way that resembles a series of lines and bars.

The steel frame forms graceful angles and curves, giving the chair a very abstract look, and it features a gorgeous chrome finish that makes it sparkle brilliantly. The seat, back and armrests of the Wassily Chair are rectangular slings made of italian leather, suspended from the frame in an elegant manner.

Despite its somewhat fragile appearance, the chair is very durable and, with proper care, is said to be able to last for many decades.
