Charles Eames designed the DSW chair for entry into the New York Museum of Modern Art's low-cost furniture design competition. Also known as the “Eiffel chair” due the the design of its base, this chair is one of the most iconic of Eames' creations.
It won the competition and went on to be one of the first mass-produced plastic chairs in history. Like many of Eames' other designs, it dictates a strong blend of modernist thinking and minimalist design. These unique furniture pieces that were inspired by Eames' work raise the bar for premium reproductions. Our primary goal is to strive to deliver the same quality present in the original design.
This Eames inspired DSW chair has everything that made the original design unique. It is very comfortable to sit in, due to its gently contoured bucket seat and it is also very durable in spite of its slender appearance.
Like many of Eames' other designs, its theme is minimalism. The look of the Eames inspired DSW chair is subdued and simple, but it still stands out due to its elegance.
The Eiffel silhouette base is especially pleasing to look at, and all of the chair's qualities come together to make it a perfect choice for almost any environment.
High quaility moulded fiberglass seat in wide variety of colours. Wooden legs strengthened by chrome plated steel struts join the seat with shock absorbers to make truly comfortable seating.
A piece of design history.
