Charles Eames inspired Fiberglass DAR Chair

The Eames DAR Chair (Dining Armchair Rod) is one of the loveliest designs Charles Eames produced. This chair was the very first mass-produced plastic chair to exist. It is commonly known as the Eiffel chair, due to the way that the design of its metal frame seems to evoke the shape of the Eiffel Tower.

Charles Eames is one of the most iconic figures in furniture design. He produced some timeless, popular pieces of furniture together with his wife Ray during the 1940s and 1950s, and his designs remain in production to this day. The Eames line owes its popularity to the sheer attention to detail Charles put into all of his work, and one thing all his pieces have in common is their high production value. The seat of the Eames DAR Chair is made of moulded fibreglass, designed with the shape of the human body in mind; its gentle contours allow it to cradle the shape of the person sitting in it, making the DAR chair incredibly comfortable to rest in.

The sides of the seat also raise to form armrests, and the back is moderately high. This chair is perfect for use at the dinner table, and it also works in office and lounge environments.
