Ball Chair

Developed in the mid 60's, the Ball Chair is one of Eero Aarnio's most iconic designs, and is even considered one of the most enigmatic pieces in the history of furniture design. Taking the most simple and pure geometric shape, the sphere, Aarnio revolutionised the world of modernist furniture in one breathtaking stroke.

The Ball Chair is a single piece of moulded fibreglass cut to be perfectly spherical, with a wide cross-section cut from the front in order to accommodate the occupant. The interior of the Ball Chair is a single sloping angle of seamless fibreglass, allowing the user to sink comfortably into the chair. Unlike the original model for the Ball Chair this version uses no padding or cushions, creating a unique design perfect for schools, waiting rooms, or private homes.

The base of the chair connects to the floor with an attached moulded support piece for full stability. This chair makes an excellent piece for use in a forward-thinking home environment.
