Garden Egg Chair

Take a blast back to the past with the retro-sci-fi inspired Garden Egg Chair. This chair creates a unique mix of portability and function, without sacrificing a parsec of futuristic space-age style.

The aesthetic of the Garden Egg Chair is genius in its simplicity. When folded inwards, the chair perfectly resembles a large coloured egg. When folded up however, the top hinges away from the base of the egg to reveal a fun and fresh sitting area. The fold-away top portion of the egg becomes the back rest, and the interior is lined with upholstered padding for comfort.

This chair was made by  Peter Ghyczy in 1968. Peter's intent and purpose with this Garden Egg Chair was to capture modern design. Almost four decades later, this piece still showcases the simplicity and futuristic style that seems to work so exceptionally well in any setting.
