Mushroom Chair

The Mushroom Lounge Chair is perhaps one of the most unique and lovely chair designs there are. It was created by the late French designer Pierre Paulin, and is widely considered to be a timeless classic.

In fact, its design has proven to be so influential that the Mushroom Lounge Chair is featured in the New York Museum of Modern Art's permanent collection. Like many of the most popular furniture designs out there, this chair has a somewhat simplistic, organic design. Its form consists of smooth, curved shapes that give it a softer appearance and make it very pleasant to the eye.

It takes its name from the vaguely mushroom-like shape of its seat, which extends outward in a sort of upside-down bell shape.

The side rims of the chair's circular frame form a pair of armrests, and the seat is formed by a steep dip at the centre.
